While the original developers have sinced moved on to a new IP which you may have heard about, Ubisoft still owns the rights to the Far Cry series and is hard at work on a sequel.

The only real problem is that the filesize is close to three gigabytes, which means you may have to leave it downloading for a few days and pray that you don't lose your internets. The downloadable version of the game is ad-supported, which is a bit of a hassle, but when you're getting a game of this quality for free you can't really complain. Regardless of plot problems though, the game has gone down as a modern classic and pushed the developers to geeky stardom. The game drew critiscism in later levels however for being incredibly difficult and have a laughable story.
